We are delighted to welcome you to the Cottage Lodge. If you have special requirements don't be shy, please ask we are here to help:
* Dietary requirements;
We can offer glutin free sausages for those with a wheat alergy. Please let us know in advance because our butcher makes them specially for you. We are happy to provide soya milk, rice cakes etc and do our best to cater for your specific requirements. Please let us know in advance.
* Hearing:
we have a portable hearing loop which we can install into your room on request - no extra charge. This will enable you to switch your hearing aid to pick up a 'boosted' TV signal. Please let us know that you have hearing difficulties so that we can pay special attention to you in the event of a fire alarm.
* Visual requirements:
please ask if you have any visual requirements. Our team are happy to help you in any way they can: reading information to you, helping you find things if you need them, we have a large touch telephone available if needed. Please let us know that you have visual difficulties so that we can pay special attention to your safety in the event of a fire alarm. We are currently having our web pages re-designed so that they will be available in large font sizes in the future.
* Mobility issues:
We welcome guests who have limited mobility. Please let us know if your mobility is restricted so that we can pay special attention to your safety in the event of a fire alarm, reserve a parking space for you, reserve a table for breakfast in our restaurant and a table for dinner at the nearby restaurants.
Ground Floor Rooms suitable for guests who don't want to climb stairs but can walk for a 100 yards are the Burley Room (walk in wet room), the Verderers (bath in en-suite), Morant (bath and Shower in en-suite - own entrance) Bolderwood (wet room. own entrance), Tom Hayter (bath with shower over - own entrance).
Wheelchair friendly room: Our ground floor Wilverely Room has been specificially designed as an All Access Room. It is a large room with space for a wheelchair to manoeuvre. It is near the fire exit route out of the building. There is a level walkway through to the Snug Bar and the dining room. The room has a zip and link bed so it is possible to have a twin or a double. In the large bathroom there is a walk-in wet room with slip-resistant flooring. (However we have recenty discovered that it is not a great floor is you have rubber caps on the bottom of walking sticks. The rubber can become slippery when wet - so beware. A picture of the Wilverley bathroom is available by going onto our rooms page an clicking on Wilverely. We can put a plastic chair in the bathroom for you if needed. Extra towels can be provided on request. There is also a pretty west facing patio garden with the Wilverley. Perfect to rest after a busy day. If you are in a wheelchair don't worry about the cattle grids: we have two sets of ramps so that you can cross them safely. There are also Wheelchair friendly walks at Wilverely Inclosure a short drive from the building.
Our limitations: If you need a hoist to get in and out of bed. If you cannot get yourself onto the toilet without help. If you need oxygen or machines to help you then we are not the best property. However, we are happy to help you to find the best property to meet your needs so don't hesitate to ring and talk to us.
